Bring in - Poker (gambling)

Open (a pot). "Who brought it in?" means "Who opened?" In a no-limit game, followed by for and an amount means open for that amount, as, "I' ll bring it in for $40" means "I' ll open for $40," and implies that the bet is more than the minimum.

To 'bring it in' is to make the first bet on the first round of a hand. In

seven-card stud, the bring-in is a mandatory bet made by the player with the lowest upcard in the first round of betting.

To bring in the betting is to make the first bet on the first round of a hand (not including blind bets and antes). A player who does this is said to "bring it in." In seven card stud, often the lowest card on the board is forced to bring it in. The bet so placed is called the bring-in.
