Medicine. Used in possess. and attrib. to designate things discovered or introduced by Koch.
Koch postulates = Koch's postulates below. Koch's bacillus (chiefly Hist.) the tubercle bacillus, first isolated by Koch. Koch's postulates a set of four criteria which should be satisfied before a given disease is attributed with certainty to any particular micro-organism. Koch-Weeks bacillus [J. E. Weeks (1853-1949), US ophthalmologist] the bacterium Haemophilus aegyptius, which is a common cause of infectious conjunctivitis.
