Chemistry. Used attrib. to designate (the plant used in and the products of) certain processes devised by Mond, spec. (a) a method of manufacturing producer gas from coal using air and excess steam, with ammonia as a by-product; (b) a process for purifying nickel by thermal decomposition of nickel carbonyl obtained from crude nickel oxide by reduction with hydrogen followed by reaction with carbon monoxide.
