Venetian blind an adjustable window-blind consisting of narrow horizontal slats joined together by vertical tapes which allow the angle of the slats to be varied, thereby controlling the amount of light excluded. Venetian blue a rich turquoise or cobalt blue. Venetian carpet a durable type of carpet woven so that the warp conceals the weft, and usu. having a striped pattern.
