Any of numerous plants with spurred flowers constituting (or formerly included in) the genus Delphinium, of the buttercup family; esp. any of certain perennials, hybrids of D. elatum, grown for their long spikes of blue, purple, or white flowers (cf. LARKSPUR). Also, a flower or flowering stem of such a plant.
