I. verb trans.
Combine (estates, laws, debts, companies, etc.) into a single whole. E16.
consolidated annuities the Government annuities of the UK (representing part of the National Debt) which in 1751 were consolidated into a single stock, now called CONSOLS. Consolidated Fund a British government fund, formed by amalgamation in 1786, which receives the product of various taxes etc. and pays the interest on the National Debt and other agreed regular charges.
