The action of dealing out in portions or shares among a number of recipients; apportionment, allotment; Economics the dispersal of commodities among consumers effected by commerce. LME.
J. Butler All shall be set right at the final distribution of things. Truck & Driver The distribution of horticultural produce throughout the entire south and west of England.
b. Economics. The way in which individuals or classes share in the aggregate products of a community. L17.
J. S. Mill Diversities in the distribution of wealth.
The action of spreading or dispersing throughout a region; the state or manner of being located in different places all over a region. LME.
B. Lovell The distribution of the stars in the Milky Way. Times Weaknesses in distribution were blamed for the newspaper's non-arrival in areas of England and Wales.
b. Statistics. The way in which a particular characteristic is spread over the members of a class. M19.
