Orig., a clog or wooden sole attached by a strap to a shoe of more delicate material. Now, an overshoe of rubber or other waterproof material. Usu. in pl. LME.
An edging of leather or other material attached to a boot or shoe for protection or decoration. Now rare. M19.
b. verb trans. Provide (a boot or shoe) with a galosh. Chiefly as galoshed ppl adjective. E19.
