Heraldry. In pl. Bars or barrulets placed together as a couple. LME-M18.
A hinge. Now only in gemel-hinge, a hinge consisting of an eye or loop and a hook. LME.
Chiefly Hist. A kind of finger-ring, much worn in the 16th cent., which can be divided into two (rarely, three) rings. Also gemel-ring. Cf. GIMMAL. L15.
b. attrib. or as adjective. Twin; double. Now only in Heraldry. L15.
