Any of various ornamental and climbing shrubs of the genus Jasminum of the olive family, cultivated for their fragrant white or yellow salver-shaped flowers; esp. one of the common species J. officinale, with white flowers, and the yellow-flowered J. humile and J. mesnyi. Also (with specifying word), any of various fragrant plants of other genera and families. M16.
