jubilate noun. ME.
[from Latin = shout for joy!, imper. of jubilare: see JUBILATE verb.]
1. More fully jubilate deo . Psalm 100 (99 in the Vulgate), used as a canticle in the Anglican service of matins; a musical setting of this. ME.
A call to rejoice; an outburst of joyous triumph. M18.
Roman Catholic Church. The third Sunday after Easter, so called because Psalm 66 (65 in the Vulgate), which in Latin begins with Jubilate, was formerly used as the introit on that day. E20.
