A deep-bodied freshwater fish of the carp family, Abramis brama, of northern Europe and parts of Asia. Also, any of certain related fishes, esp. (more fully silver bream, white bream), a European freshwater fish, Blicca bjoerkna, similar to Abramis brama. LME.
Any of various similar percoid marine fishes, esp. (a) = SEA bream; (b) = POMFRET 2. LME.
