memorandum adjective, noun, & verb. LME.
[Latin, neut. sing. of memorandus gerundive of memorare bring to mind, from memor mindful. Cf. MEM adjective & noun2, MEMO.]
A. adjective. To be remembered: placed at the beginning of a note of something to be remembered or a record (for future Reference) of something done. Now only Law. LME.
B. noun. Pl. -da , -dums.
a. A note to help the memory, a record of events or of observations on a particular subject, esp. for future consideration or use. L15.
b. Law. A Writing or document summarizing or embodying the terms of a transaction, contract, agreement, establishment of a company etc. In Maritime Insurance, a clause in a policy enumerating the articles in respect of which underwriters have no liability. L16.
