A. noun.
Any of various tropical or subtropical leguminous shrubs, trees, lianes, etc., of the genus Mimosa, chiefly with bipinnate leaves and small pink or white flowers in ball-like clusters; esp. the sensitive plant, Mimosa pudica. Also, any of certain, chiefly Australian, trees of the related genus Acacia; esp. (the blossom of) the silver wattle, A. dealbata. Also mimosa tree. M18.
In full mimosa-bark. The bark of various Australian acacias, used in tanning. Also called wattle-bark. M19.
A bright yellow colour resembling that of the flowers of the silver wattle. E20.
A cocktail consisting of orange juice and champagne. M20.
