Nuclear Physics. Each of three stable uncharged leptons (associated with the electron, muon, and tau-particle) having very low mass and an extremely low probability of interaction with matter (symbol ¦Í). Also, an antiparticle of any of these (symbol &numac;), as produced (with an electron and a proton) in the beta decay of a neutron.
