A. adjective. Consisting of eight parts or things; eight times as many or as much, eightfold; Music (of a rhythm or time) having eight beats in a bar. E17.
b. noun. An eightfold number or amount. L17.
C. verb trans. & intrans. Multiply by eight; make or become eight times as large, numerous, etc. M19.
