[from mod Latin Pachycephalosaurus (see below), formed as PACHY- + CEPHALO- + saurus (see -SAUR).]
Palaeontology. A bipedal herbivorous dinosaur of the late Cretacean infraorder Pachycephalosauria (and spec. of the genus Pachycephalosaurus), members of which were characterized by thick dome-like skulls.
