a. Heraldry. (Of a charge) perforated with a circular hole so that the tincture of the field appears through; (of an animal) having an arrow, spear, etc., fixed in but not passing through the body. E17.
b. Of silver, china, porcelain, etc.: ornamented with perforations. M18.
Special collocations: pierced earring: designed to be worn in a pierced ear. Pierced Nose = NEZ PERCe.
