Native Dancer (sh)




(foaled 1950) U.S. Thoroughbred racehorse.

He won the Preakness and Belmont stakes in 1953 but finished second in the Kentucky Derby. In 1954 he was named Horse of the Year. He won 21 of 22 total starts, achieving widespread popularity as the first horse whose major victories were seen on national Television.
