primer fine (Law, now Hist.) a sum, usu. about one-tenth of the annual income of the land in question, to be paid to the Crown by a plaintiff suing for the recovery of land by writ of covenant. primer seisin (Law, now Hist.) a feudal right of the English Crown to receive, from the heir of a tenant of the Crown who died in possession of a knight's fee, the profits of the inherited estate for the first year.
