Math. Calculation of the area bounded by or lying under a curve; the process of constructing a square equal in area to that of a given surface, esp. a circle. M16.
Astronomy. The aspect of a celestial object in the solar system (esp. the moon) when situated 90 degrees from the sun as seen from earth; the point (in space or time) at which this occurs. Also (Astrology), a similar aspect between any two planets, a square aspect. L16.
