The action of SMOKE verb; spec. the action of inhaling and exhaling smoke from a cigarette, cigar, etc. M16.

A train compartment, section of a restaurant, etc., in which smoking is allowed. Usu. attrib. M16.
In full smoking-jacket. A jacket of velvet or Other rich cloth, usu. trimmed with braid, formerly worn by men when smoking. Also, a dinner jacket. L19.
