[medieval Latin stationarius tradesman having a regular station or shop (i.e. not itinerant), chiefly a bookseller: see STATIONARY, -ER2.]
A bookseller. More widely, a person engaged in any aspect of the book trade. ME-L19.

Comb.: Stationers' Hall the hall of the Stationers' Company in London at which a book was formerly registered for purposes of copyright.
