Potassium bitartrate (potassium hydrogen tartrate), a white crystalline substance present in grape juice and deposited in an impure reddish-brown form during the fermentation of wine. Also called argol. LME.
A calcareous or other hard concretion or crust deposited by a liquid. Now spec. the hard calcified deposit or calculus which forms on the surface of the teeth. E17.
