Salado River (sh)




River, eastern Argentina.

It flows through the Pampas, generally southeast for about 400 mi (640 km) to the Atlantic Ocean, where it empties southeast of Buenos Aires. Before 1800 it marked the frontier between areas colonized by Spain to the northeast and regions inhabited by indigenous Indians to the southwest.
