(The shell of) any of various marine gastropod molluscs of the family Buccinidae and related Families, most of which are predators of bivalve molluscs and have turbinate shells; esp. Buccinum undatum, which is common on N. Atlantic coasts and is used as Food.

A form of chronic rheumatoid arthritis in which osteolysis occurs with extensive destruction of the joint cartilages and bony surfaces with pronounced deformities, chiefly of the hands and feet; similar changes can occur in some cases of psoriatic arthritis.
