<gynaecology> Transfer of egg cell from donor to host mother. Oocytes are captured by laparoscopy, fertilised in vitro, and transferred to the recipient.

Used for women with premature ovarian failure or severe genetic disorders, women who respond poorly to human menopausal gonadotropin, and women older than 40 years who do not conceive with use of other therapies.
