U.S. stock-car racer.

He began racing stock cars in the early 1960s. He was the first to win the NASCAR championships for three consecutive years (1976-78). He also won the Daytona 500 three times (1968, 1977, 1983) and the Atlanta 500 four times (1967, 1968, 1974, 1981).
