an amphitheatre (=large circular theatre without a roof) in Rome which was built during the first century AD and is now one of the most famous ancient Roman buildings. Fights involving gladiators were organized there as a form of Entertainment.

or Baroda

City (pop., 2001 prelim.: 1,306,035), southeastern Gujarat state, west-central India.

It was known by many different names before receiving its present one in 1971. The earliest record of the city dates from a charter of AD 812, and during the succeeding centuries it came under various rulers, including those of the Muslim Delhi sultanate and the Mughal dynasty. Its varied products include cotton textiles, chemicals, machinery, and furniture.
