Shelley, Percy Bysshe (oh)



(1792-1822) a British poet of the Romantic Movement, who disliked religion and believed strongly in political freedom. His most famous works were written after 1818 when he went to live in Italy with his wife Mary Shelley, and they include Adonais, written in memory of the poet John Keats, Prometheus Unbound, and To a Skylark.
