Ingredients



6 large apples, diced 1 litre/1 pint 15fl oz cider250ml/8¾fl oz dark rum3 cinnamon sticks3 star anise1 litre/1 pint 15fl oz water100g/3½oz sugar



Method



1. Place all the ingredients in a pan, except the rum. Cook slowly for one hour 15 minutes, then add the rum. Serve warm or cold.
