Family-Style Beef Pizza (recipes)


Family-Style Beef Pizza

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Yield: Makes 6 servings



Ingredients:



1package (13.8 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough

1/4pound 95% lean ground beef

3tablespoons finely chopped onion

3/4cup pizza sauce

1small tomato, peeled, seeded, and chopped

2teaspoons dried Italian seasoning

2cloves garlic, minced

1/8teaspoon ground red pepper

1/2cup sliced fresh mushrooms

1cup (4 ounces) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

1tablespoon finely shredded Parmesan cheese









Preparation:





1.Preheat oven to 425°F. Lightly spray 12-inch pizza pan with nonstick cooking spray. Unroll pizza dough; press onto prepared pan. Build up edges slightly. Use fork to generously prick dough. Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.2.Meanwhile, brown ground beef with onion in large skillet. Drain. Set aside.3.Cook and stir pizza sauce, tomato, Italian seasoning, garlic, cumin and red pepper in small saucepan over medium heat; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, about 8 minutes or until of desired consistency.4.Spread tomato mixture over evenly pizza crust. Sprinkle with ground beef mixture and mushrooms. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Return to oven. Bake 5 to 8 minutes or until heated through.
