Smothered Pork Chops (recipes)


Smothered Pork Chops

(serves 4)



Ingredients

4 tablespoons oil

4 large pork chops

1 medium onion, chopped

3 large cloves garlic, chopped

salt and pepper to taste

water



Directions

In a large skillet, heat oil; add pork chops seasoned with salt and pepper. Add onions and garlic; sauté till chops are lightly browned on both sides. Add 1/2 cup water and boil; partially cover and reduce water to oil. Turn pork chops over and repeat with another 1/2 cup of water for an hour. Remove pork chops to a warm platter. Add 1 cup of water to the pan; scrape the drippings from the bottom of the pan. Simmer a few minutes. Pour juice over chops and serve.
