Bio-Bio River (sh)

River, south-central Chile.

Rising in the Andes Mountains, it flows northwestward 240 mi (380 km) to enter the Pacific Ocean near Concepcion. Though it is one of Chile's longest rivers, it is shallow and navigable only by flat-bottomed boats.
