Fontainebleau (sh) and neural networks (medicine)

Fontainebleau (sh)

Chateau in northern France, southeast of the town of Fontainebleau.

One of the largest structures built by the kings of France, it was originally a medieval hunting lodge, but was rebuilt (from 1528) under Francis I. Its numerous renovations show the transition from early Renaissance to Mannerist (Late Renaissance) styles. The chateau is a succession of five courts of different shapes. Of particular interest is the Gallery of Francis I (งใ 1533-45), a long, narrow room decorated with stucco relief sculpture and painting by Rosso Fiorentino.

neural networks

A computer architecture, implementable in either Hardware or Software, modeled after biological neural networks.

Like the biological system in which the processing capability is a result of the interconnection strengths between arrays of nonlinear processing nodes, computerised neural networks, often called perceptrons or multilayer connectionist models, consist of neuron-like units.

A homogeneous group of units makes up a layer. These networks are good at pattern recognition. They are adaptive, performing tasks by example, and thus are better for decision-making than are linear learning machines or cluster analysis. They do not require explicit Programming.
