City (pop., 2001: 150,255), southeastern Ontario, Canada.

With the cities of Toronto, Etobicoke, Scarborough, and North York and the borough of East York, it forms part of the municipality of Metropolitan Toronto. Occupying an area of 9 sq mi (23 sq km), York was established in 1967 through the amalgamation of the former township of York and the town of Weston. The original York township was formed in 1793.
