Heraldry. The tail of an animal. L16.
queue fourche(e) having a forked or double tail.
A plait of hair worn at the back; a pigtail. M18.
A line of people, vehicles, etc., awaiting their turn to proceed, be attended to, etc. M19.

E. Figes The queue of office employees at the bus stop. transf.: Listener The railways had to take their place in the queue after housing.
